About the game
Paper Bay Post is a boat delivery game drawn in ink. You steer a little mail boat through a harbour made of paper: pick up post at the docks, deliver it to stations, fish drifting mailbags out of the water and wait for the bascule bridges to lift.
Switch between morning, dusk and night, or sun, rain and fog, at any time — the whole bay looks like a moving pen-and-ink illustration.
How to play
- Desktop: W/S to go and brake, A/D to steer, E to deliver and hold E to salvage mailbags, Shift for a steam boost, Space to sound the horn.
- Phone: joystick bottom-left to steer, E button bottom-right to deliver or hold to salvage, yellow button to boost.
- Every day brings new orders; from day 2 there are special conditions (lantern festival, rainy season, thick fog, tailwind day, rowdy gulls, mail flood), and from day 3, timed express parcels.
- M opens the order board, N the minimap, T changes the time of day, Y the weather and H shows the full help.
What's inside
- Combos: deliver again within 75 seconds and your stamp bonus keeps climbing; dock gently for an extra point.
- Fragile parcels crack and lose postage if you bump into things.
- The post-office boatyard: spend stamps on engine, rudder, boiler and hold upgrades, plus 6 paint jobs.
- 12 message bottles hidden in quiet waters, floating stamps that respawn daily along the channels and 13 achievements; ferries and sailboats honk back at you.
Tips
- Don't boost with a fragile parcel aboard, and slow down before corners.
- Plan a route on the order board and deliver parcels heading the same way together to keep your combo going.
- Don't rush a lowered bridge — approach slowly and it lifts on its own; wait until it's fully up.
- Spend your first stamps on the rudder: sharper turns make gentle docking much easier.

Behind the scenes
The ink lines aren't textures: they're traced live in a post-processing pass from the scene's depth and surface direction, with a little hand wobble and broken pen pressure. Shadows get pencil hatching anchored to the world, so the hatching doesn't slide when the camera moves. The channels, docks, bridges and trees are all generated by code.
